Many newly registered voters can't vote in Oregon Primary

Thousands of voters who have had received ballots in the mail won’t be allowed to cast their vote in the Oregon presidential primary. This is because only registered Democrats and Republicans would be permitted to use their power to vote. As per the new 'Motor Voter' system, voters are automatically registered as “unaffiliated” and are expected to fill in an online form where they can either change their party affiliation or back out as a whole. Since 76% voters didn’t send this form back to the election authorities by the late April deadline, they wouldn’t be considered eligible to participate in the presidential primary.
