The Taba region is located at the edge of the Gulf of Aqaba. This is a small village, which is presently occupied by Egypt and for long had been the bone of controversy between Israel and Egypt.
Taba was passed over to Egypt in 1989 after a long ten years of dispute. Being a part of the Sinai Peninsula, the coastal areas of Taba attract tourists for scuba diving. The place serves as weekend spot for many a locals and Israelis. There is a major bus terminus in the Taba village, which ferries passengers between Egypt and Israel. Also, there are regular bus services from Dahab, Sharm el Sheikh, Nuweiba, Cairo and Suez. Hence, it is an important transportation junction.

The Taba Heights resort in this region is the best hotel, which provides all sorts of facilities to make the stay of the tourists very comfortable and luxurious. There are also facilities of spas and banquet halls. It is a five-star hotel, which is recommended when tourists are looking for the best accommodation in the Taba region. Though it is a village, the tourism industry is fast developing. There are coffee shops and lively market places to explore. Tourists are never at dearth of indulging in activities.
