El Alamein is a picturesque town in the northern part of Egypt. It is on Mediterranean Sea coast and is located 106 km west of Alexandria and approximately 240 km northwest of the capital city of Cairo. Like the entire Egyptian north coast, El Alamein is also succumbing to mass tourism with time.
