The city of Korsor lies within the latitude and longitude of 55 o 34 ' N, 11 o 13 ' E. Korsor has about 15,000 inhabitants living in it. The port of Korsor lies on the west coast of Zealand looking across the Great Belt.

History of Korsor
In order to protect themselves from the Wends the Dutch had built a castle dating back to the 12th century. A new fortress was built near the Nor in the early 14 th century which consisted of a tower surrounded by a wall. Soon Korsor developed and in 1425 it was granted its first town privileges. In 1661 Korsor became an official trading center along with the capital city of Copenhagen.

The Great Belt Exibition Center, Halsshov - The Great Belt Exhibition Center in the town of Halsskov, north of Korsør, is worth a visit.
King's House - The King's House dating back to 1761 is the place where the members of royal family used to stay during their visit to the city.
Orslev- Holsteinberg Castle - There is a church south west of Korsor in Orslev with an architectural ornament portraying medieval round dance occasions.
Skaelskar-Boreby Manor - This is one of the best-preserved country houses dating back to the Renaissance period.
The Danish city of Korsor has immense historical and economic importance.
