Capital of Comoros

The capital of Comoros is Moroni. Dzaoudzi was the administrative capital of Comoros initially, which was replaced by Moroni in the middle of the 20th century.
The Comoros capital now is the largest city as well as the highest populated area of the country. In 2003, the number of residents in Moroni, the administrative capital of the city, was 60,200.

The city is located in the western coast of the island of Grand Comore. The latitude and the longitude of Moroni is 11°42'15''S and 43°14'25''E respectively.

The major international airport Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport is located in Moroni, Comoros. The international destinations connected through this airport include:

A harbor is also located here which connects it to the African mainland and other islands of Comoros.

The ambience of the city is Arabic and abounds in large number of mosques. Nouvelle Mosquee de Vendredi, situated near the port is a grand mosque. The city also encompasses some important government buildings. A number of hotels have been established in the city to accommodate the visitors. Being the capital of Comoros, the city has many facilities. The transport system in the city is highly developed. As a result of which maximum population of Comoros resides here. The city even draws maximum number of tourists.
