Tianjin University

Tianjin University of China was established in 1895 with the name of Peiyang University or the Beiyang University. Later in 1951, the university was renamed as Tianjin University , which became one of the largest multifaceted engineering institutes of the country. Today it is considered to be a national university that is under the administration of the Ministry of Education of China. It is also one of the first sixteen state accredited modern framed universities of the country.

Tianjin University currently has 4,600 staffs made up of 342 professors, 662 associate professors, 9 academicians and over 10 special engaged professors of “Yangtze Scholar Award Project”. Total number of student is 19,000 out of which 5000 are enaged in higher educational courses, i.e. doctoral Master's programs.

A world class University, is a conglomeration of talented professional and researchers. The university has five national key laboratories :

  • 2 national promotion centers for scientific and technological achievements
  • 7 engineering R&D centers and open laboratories at ministerial level.

Rich and lively in campus cultural, Tianjin University provides facilities of Students' Union, the Students' Scientific Society, Peiyang Art Team, and the Youth Volunteers' Society.
