Yemen: UN 'deeply concerned' by impact of bombing on civilians
May 10 , 2015
Johannes Van Der Klauuw, the UN representative in Yemen, has criticized the Saudi-led bombing campaign, saying that many civilians were “effectively trapped” in Saada because of the air strikes.
The air strikes have killed around 1,400 people, and more than half of them are civilians, according to the UN.
People in the area have no access to transport because of shortage of fuel, Van Der Klauuw said, adding that he was “deeply concerned” by the impact of the Saudi-led bombing raids.
