Yemen: UN considering Russia's call for pause in air attacks
April 5 , 2015
The UN Security Council is mulling over a Russian call for a pause in the air campaign in Yemen for humanitarian reasons.
The president of the council said that members required time to “reflect” on Russia’s proposal.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led air strikes against the Shia Houthi rebels, who are trying to seize the Yemini port city of Aden, have continued for the eleventh night.
According to UN estimates, over 500 people have been killed in Yemen in two weeks.
