Yemen conflict: Saudi-led coalition announces ceasefire after deadly air strike
July 26 , 2015
The Saudi Arabia-led coalition has announced a five-day humanitarian truce in Yemen after more than 120 people were killed in an airstrike on a coastal town.
The ceasefire decision was taken following a request by Yemen’s president and Saudi ally Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, according to the Saudi government.
The deadly air strike hit a residential area of Mokha town, which is home to many fishermen.
About 1,700 Yemini civilians have been killed in the fighting in the past four months.
