Yemen: Air strike on refugee camp kills 40

  • An air strike by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition has killed an estimated 40 people and wounded 200 at a refugee camp in Yemen, a rights group has said.

Twenty-five people are believed to be seriously injured, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said.

Among those killed, three were reportedly government soldiers who were protecting the al-Mazraq camp, the IOM told the UK’s Guardian newspaper.

The air attack was apparently meant to target Shia Houthi rebels in the area.
