Chinese President Xi Jinping has warned against foreign influence on religions within the country.
The Chinese government has asked religious groups in the country to pledge their loyalty to the state.
China’s ruling Communist Party is officially atheist.
Xi Jinping said that the country must “manage religious affairs” according to the law, and religions should be “incorporated” into “socialist society.”
The government claimed that the foreign forces are using religion to incite people in places like Tibet and Xinjiang.
