Wrong Children Conceived through IVF in California

  • It has been reported that a California fertility clinic has had a mix-up, which led an Asian couple to conceive “wrong children”. The couple figured out the goof-up when two boys were born which were not of Asian descent. They've filed a lawsuit against the clinic and the DNA tests confirmed that the children conceived were not related to the couple. There were earlier signs of the blunder as well, when a scan disclosed that the couple were expecting boys despite the fact that the doctor did not use male embryos during the process. This is bound to create social and ethical dilemmas for the family. However, the fertility clinic is yet to comment on the matter.
