World losing battle against Ebola, says expert

Joanne Liu, international president of Médecins sans Frontières, has said that though stark warnings about Ebola were being given for half a year, the international response was grossly inadequate — and now it might be too late to stop the escalating epidemic.
She said the world was “losing the battle” to contain the deadly disease.
While new cases and deaths surge in West Africa, there have been riots, isolation centers can no longer cope and health workers are “dying in shocking numbers,” Liu said.
