Wisconsin Sikh temple gunman had 'white supremacy links'
August 7 , 2012
U.S. authorities are looking into reports that a gunman who killed six people at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin was linked to a white supremacist group.
Wade Michael Page, 40, who was shot dead by police during Sunday's attack, reportedly performed in a far-right music group.
The FBI is treating the attack as a domestic terrorism case.
American Sikhs have been targeted since the 9/11 attacks, often mistaken for Muslims due to wearing turbans and beards.
Page opened fire at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek as dozens arrived for a morning service.
Five men and a woman aged between 39 and 84 were killed. Four people were found dead inside the building, and two outside.
Three others, including a policeman, are still in critical condition.
