WikiLeaks To Publish 2.4 Million Syrian Emails
July 6 , 2012
WikiLeaks has started to publish what they call The Syria Files – over 2.4 million emails from prominent political figures and government officials in Syria, promising to cause much embarrassment to the Damascus administration. The emails are believed to contain records of financial transactions of Syrian ministries with the West and hence could compromise the image of many Western companies as well. The mails are said to date between April 2006 and March 2012 and to provide a closer look at the administration which has been struggling the past sixteen months to quell an internal civil war. The source of these emails has not yet been disclosed, though.
