WikiLeaks publishes 60,000 'Saudi diplomatic documents'; more to follow

  • WikiLeaks has reportedly started publishing over 500,000 Saudi diplomatic cables online.

The transparency website announced that some 60,000 files, most of them in Arabic, had already been posted.

Most documents appear to carry a letterhead saying ‘Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’ or 'Ministry of External Affairs’. Some are marked ‘classified’ or ‘urgent’.

The authenticity of the documents could not be immediately verified, but WikiLeaks has previously published genuine diplomatic documents.
