Widodo takes oath as Indonesia's new president

Joko Widodo has been sworn is as the president of Indonesia, according to media reports.
The 53-year-old, who won the July presidential poll, took the oath of office in Jakarta at a ceremony attended by world leaders, including Tony Abbott, the prime minister of Australia and US secretary of state John Kerry.
Widodo, the son of a wood-seller and former governor of Jakarta, described the occasion as a “historic moment” for the country and urged Indonesians to remain united and “move together.”
