WHO Declares Ebola Outbreak in DR of Congo

  • As per reports, an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been declared by the World Health Organisation (WHO). One person lost his life after contracting the virus in the north-eastern part of the country, said WHO.

    The first team of experts, which include epidemiologists, biologists and hygiene specialists are on their way, and will reach the affected region by Friday of Saturday.

    The last outbreak of the virus in the region was in 2014, which killed more than 40 people.

    The outbreak has been described by WHO as "a public health crisis of international importance".
