West Africa: 180 Bodies Found in Mass Graves in Northern Burkina Faso
July 9 , 2020
As per Human Rights Watch (HRW), nearly 180 bodies have been found in mass graves in northern Burkina Faso, Africa where soldiers were fighting jihadists. Over seven months, the bodies had been dumped near the town of Djibo in groups of up to 20, before being buried by residents. The HRW official said that "available evidence suggests government forces were involved in mass extrajudicial executions". Further, Cherif Moumina Sy told the campaign group that it is difficult to distinguish between armed terrorists and defense and security. However, the government would investigate the allegations.
