Water Levels Down but Heavy Rains may hit Quebec on Weekend

  • As per reports, water levels are much low in Quebec now but heavy rains may hit the province on the weekend, warned the Quebec’s environment minister. The central Quebec region of Mauricie will possibly bear the brunt of the rainfall.

May people have been building dikes, packing sandbags and helping citizens in the region for the last few days.

Though all kinds of possible help are being offered by the city officials, there are some smaller towns in the region which have only few resources to deal with flooding.

As mentioned by Public Security Minister Martin Coiteux, the floods have affected 3,882 residences in the province. He further said 2,721 people left their homes and that there have been 126 landslides.
