Violent Group Hijacks Paris March, Injures Six Police Officers

  • As per reports, French unions organized the traditional May Day march on Monday, which was hijacked by around 150 masked youth armed with molotov cocktails, stones and sticks. They injured six riot police officers. One of the officers received third-degree burns to his hand and face.

The celebration was joined by thousands. However, many used the occasion to protest against the far-right presidential candidate Marine le Pen as well as her party.

As soon as the march set off, a group of youth started throwing missiles and masonry from the walls of buildings at police. The police reportedly responded with tear gas.
