Venezuelan President Maduro to stand for re-election in April

  • President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro has said he is going to stand again for the fresh elections this year. The pro-government Constituent Assembly has ordered fresh elections to take place before the end of April. Maduro is ready for another six-year term as he believes it is the right decision. The former presidential candidate Henrique Capriles has a different opinion. He said the government was so unpopular that it could lose the vote. He has urged the people to unite and save the democracy.
