Venezuela to Quit OAS Regional Bloc

  • As per reports, Venezuela on Wednesday mentioned that it is going to quit the Organization of American States regional bloc.

As stated by Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, a two-year process would be launched by the government in order to pull out of the Washington-based regional diplomatic grouping.

She further said that a letter of complaint to the OAS will be presented by the government and a process, which will take 24 months, will begin.

Concern about the state of democracy in Venezuela has been expressed by the OAS and many other international authorities.
