Spain Terror Attack in Barcelona and Cambrils Leaves 13 Dead and 100 Injured

  • Shock and grief gripped Spain when a terror attack shook the streets of Barcelona on Thursday 17th August 2017. In what seems to be a terror attack conspired by the Terrorist Organization ISIS, a van rammed into people enjoying their day at Las Ramblas in Barcelona. Another similar attack, where an Audi ran over people, took place on early Friday morning in the City of Cambrils. So far the death toll for both the attacks at Barcelona & Cambrils has gone up to 13 and has injured 100 people. Although the two attacks have taken place at different places and times, the authorities think that attacks are linked to each other. Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) through its media outlet Amaq has claimed the responsibility of the attack. The authorities in Barcelona are on the lookout for the driver accused of killing the pedestrians. Two persons have been nabbed but neither of them is the accused driver. In Cambrils however, a gunbattle between the security forces and the terrorists ensued and the authorities have claimed that 5 terrorists have been neutralized.
