US woman killed by elephants in Thailand
January 24 , 2014
An American tourist who went missing on Jan. 13 was found dead in the woods after five days of being trampled by elephants. The 70-person search team discovered her body and the severity of the injuries confirms that the cause of death was trampling.
The incident occurred in a reserve outside Bangkok and reports suggest that the tourist was in her 20s. "Looking at the pictures she took in her camera, we see a lot of animals, birds, snakes, lizards, an official said. "We assumed she wanted to take pictures of elephants because that's what the Kaeng Krachan National Park is famous for. We believed she wanted to find them and take some photos."
