US State Department Warns Americans about Terror Threat at World Cup in Russia

  • The U.S. State Department has issued a warning to the Americans about the possible terror attacks at World Cup venues in Russia. However, no specific threats have been pointed out by the US State Department's travel advisory. It also said that large-scale international events such as World Cup are prime targets of terrorists. The travel advisory also said that the major locations where the terrorists can carry out attack include stadiums, Fan Fest viewing areas, transportation hubs, tourist sites, and other public venues with lots of crowds. However, the communique also mentioned that there will be extensive security throughout Russia for the World Cup.
