US-South Korea joint military exercises to start from March 2

  • The US and South Korea have said that the annual joint military drills will start from March 2.

Such exercise invariably increases the tension in the peninsula, with North Korea calling them a rehearsal for a possible invasion.

According to Washington and Seoul, the drills, labelled Foal Eagle and Key Resolve, are defensive in nature. While Key Resolve is predominantly computer-simulated, Foal Eagle lasts several weeks and involves thousands of troops.
