US seeks to subdue Syrian conflict
May 1 , 2016
United States has undertaken various measures to de-escalate tensions in Syria and revive the nationwide ceasefire. Its priority is to stop the airstrikes in Aleppo which has left more than 200 people dead, and for the same US seeks Russian help to pressurise the Assad regime to stop the indiscriminate bombing. Russia in a statement defended the raids saying that it is targeting the terrorist groups. However, this claim is rejected by Kerry who expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation.
