US-Saudi alliance getting sour

  • The growing rift in the relationship between Saudi Arabia and US became apparent when the US president Barack Obama was received by the local Governor and not by king Salman Bin and Al-Aziz, on his visit to Riyadh to attend a regional summit of Gulf Leaders. However, the Monarch had personally welcomed all other leaders who had arrived to attend the summit. The relation between the two nations has been riddled with contradictions and turned sour when US refused to bomb Syria. With Washington concluding the Iranian nuclear deal, the bilateral ties hit a new low.
