April 17 , 2016
The U.S. European Command has announced deployment of tactical aircraft, Marine Corps EA-6B Prowler aircraft, at the Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. The aircraft has been sent to facilitate the operations against ISIS, which will attack ISIS’ communication. Besides intercepting communications, the Prowler can protect allied forces on the ground and strike aircraft after jamming the radar and communication devices of ISIS. Cell phones signals are used to trigger roadside bombs which the aircraft will be able to jam. This particular aircraft was used in the Vietnam War in 1972 and has been a part of peacekeeping missions around the world.
