US President Trump Urges Saudi Arabia's King Salman to Increase Oil Output

  • The US President Donald Trump, in a tweet, said that he had spoken to King Salman of Saudi Arabia and asked him to increase oil output as a measure to check rising fuel charges, following “turmoil & dysfunction in Iran and Venezuela”. Trump expects that after his request Saudi Arabia may increase oil production output “up to 2,000,000 barrels”. A Saudi official reportedly said that Saudi Arabia currently produces oil to a maximum of 11 million barrels per day and may not increase the current production capacity because that’ll become expensive. President Trump also said that King Salman agreed to the fact that oil prices are too high.
