US President Trump says he can Interfere in Criminal cases Legally

  • The US President Donald Trump has said that he has the legal right of interfering in the criminal case, further raising the question whether the US legal system is losing its independent character. President Trump’s criticism was directed towards the judge, jury and prosecutors in the criminal case against Roger Stone, his longtime advisor. This has prompted rebuke from Attorney General William Barr. The Democrats, who has earlier tried to remove the US President Trump on two charges earlier, are yet again raising the demand of a probe. Reports say that after his Senate acquittal from the impeachment cases, Trump has been emboldened and has now a greater sense of freedom.
