US President Trump says False Domestic-Sexual Violence Accusations Destroy Lives and Career

  • After two White House aides (White House staff secretary Rob Porter and speechwriter David Sorensen) quit amid domestic abuse accusations, the US President Donald Trump said in a tweet that “lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation”. Trump warned that false allegations (without verification through “Due Process”) can ruin life and career of persons. However, Democrats such as Senator Patty Murray reacted sharply by saying she’ll stand by those women who faced sexual violence and harassment on a daily basis. Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier went on to call President Trump’s comments as “offensive”.
