US President Trump asks Britain to Walk away from Brexit Deal if EU Refuses to Give them What they Want
June 2 , 2019
US President Donald Trump has said during an interview with a leading British national newspaper that the UK must walk away from Brexit negotiations with the European Union if Brussels doesn’t give UK what it wants. In fact, Trump opined that Britain should refuse paying 39 billion pound (equivalent to $50 billion) divorce bill to the EU. His comments come a day before the US President visits Britain. After praising Boris Johnson’s leadership capabilities and backing him for the leadership race of the conservative party, the US President Trump said that it was a mistake on part of the conservatives not involving the Brexit Party leader Farage during negotiations with Brussels. President Trump also made it clear that Brexit will allow the US to “deal with the No 1 country by far”.
