US President says Kelly will Step Down as White House Chief of Staff at 2018-end

  • White House seems to be on the verge of yet another shakeup soon since the Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives a month back during the midterm elections. The US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that John Kelly (the White House Chief of Staff) will leave his job at the end of 2018. He made the announcement when he was leaving the White House for attending the annual football game in Philadelphia between the Navy military academies and the Army. He also said that he’ll announce the successor of Kelly in a day or two. Trump appreciated the service given by Kelly as well as his work in the US Department of Homeland Security (before becoming Trump’s chief of staff). Reports say President Trump is in talks with Nick Ayers (a close aide to the US Vice President Mike Pence) to take over the chief of staff’s position till spring of 2019.
