US President says He'll Raise Issue of Russian Meddling in 2016 US Election with Putin Next Month

  • US President Donald Trump told media on Friday that during his scheduled meeting in Helsinki with Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 16, he’ll ask him about alleged Russian meddling during the 2016 US Presidential Election. Trump went on to say that the major issues that he’ll raise and discuss with Putin in next month’s summit will include many international issues including conflicts in Syria and Ukraine. When the media asked him whether the US will recognize Crimea as an integral part of Russia, President Trump said they will see the issue. A similar kind of response was given by Trump when asked about lifting sanctions on Russia.
