US President Donald Trump Signs $1.3 Trillion Package Despite Considering to Veto the Bill

  • The US President Donald Trump signed a $1.3 Trillion package for funding the government for next 6 months (till September 30), averting an imminent US government shutdown (which would have been 3rd shutdown this year). Just hours before signing the 2,000-page package, Trump tweeted suggesting he might veto the Omnibus Spending Bill as it didn’t address 800,000 plus DACA recipients as well as the border wall. While signing the package the US President said that despite being unhappy about the bill, he was signing it because it increases military spending significantly. He went on to vow that he’ll never sign such a bill again.
