US President Donald Trump Removes Two High Ranking Officials for Testifying against him in Impeachment Trial
February 8 , 2020
The administration of the US President Donald Trump has dismissed two witnesses (Army Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman and Ambassador Gordon Sondland) who testified against Trump at his impeachment trial. Reports say that the testimonies of these two officials were the most damaging during President Trump’s investigation. The leading Ukraine expert at the White House’s National Security Council, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, was escorted out of the White House just 2-days after President Trump was acquitted by the Republican-controlled Senate from impeachment trial. Vindman’s lawyer David Pressman said that his client was “asked to leave for telling the truth”. Just hours later the U.S ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland said that he “was advised today that the president intends to recall me effective immediately”. On Friday, a senior lawyer for the National Security Council, Yevgeny Vindman (the twin brother of Army Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman), was also sent back to the Department of the Army. Reports say that President Trump wants to shake-up his staff after he was acquitted from the impeachment trial by the Senate.
