US President Donald Trump calls SpaceX's Successful Launch of 2 NASA Astronauts New Age of American Ambition

  • US President Donald Trump has called the launch of a historic space mission of SpaceX the “new age of American ambition”. While delivering his speech to the nation from NASA, the US President announced on May 31 that “SpaceX Dragon Capsule successfully reached low Earth orbit… and the astronauts are safe and sound.” He called last night's SpaceX rocket launch feat a “great inspiration” that witnessed launch of American astronauts into space for the first time in around 10 years. Trump called the mission “important” and beautiful to see, especially at a time when the US is suffering terribly due to something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Two NASA astronauts (Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley) were launched into space (International Space Station) under the Demo-2 mission in the Crew Dragon spacecraft by SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from the Launch Complex 39A at Florida’s Cape Canaveral. SpaceX founder Elon Musk has said that he was “overcome with emotion” as he has been working towards this goal for the last 18-years. Musk went on to say that this Demo-2 mission was the “first step on a journey that would see humans become a multi-planetary species”.
