US President Dismisses Reports of Rifts among G7 Leaders, Caught Off-Guard with Iranian Foreign Minister's Visit

  • The US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports on Sunday that there are rifts among the G7 leaders. He said that he is getting along well with his western allies and went on to declare that the G7 leaders “respect” the on-going US-China trade war. Trump had to clear the air after news reports on Saturday claimed that squabbles erupted among G7 nations regarding Brexit and the ways of tackling raging fires in the Amazonian rain forests. The US President also praised the newly appointed British PM Boris Johnson and said that US will have “a very big trade deal - bigger than we've ever had with the UK” after the UK comes out of the European Union and they don’t have any “anchor around their ankle”. The US President Donald Trump was caught off-guard as Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif made a surprise to the G7 summit in Biarritz (France) and held a 3.5 hours meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
