US President Couldn't Pay Tribute to American War Heroes of WWI due to Rain

  • The US President Donald Trump couldn’t attend World War One memorial for U.S. soldiers and marines in France on Saturday. White House, in a statement, said that arranging transport became impossible because of heavy rain. Trump’s inability to attend and pay respect to the US soldiers who died during WWI was criticized by some officials in the UK as well as the USA. They reportedly said the US President “dishonored” the U.S. servicemen. Donald Trump along with his wife Melania was scheduled on Saturday to pay tribute at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in Belleau, located 85 km in the east of Paris. The memorial site was visited by a delegation led by Chief of Staff John Kelly.
