US praises efforts to tackle Ebola
October 29 , 2014
Praising efforts by west African countries hit by Ebola and international donors, US envoy to the UN Samantha Power has said that Sierra Leone and Liberia have come a long way in carrying out more safe burials — a key source of virus transmission, as per media reports.
Power urged foreign donors to keep providing help to the affected region.
Around 5,000 people have died of Ebola in west Africa so far.
Liberia’s president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf warned against stigmatizing Ebola patients.
