US-North Korean Military Generals Hold Talks over Returning Remains of the US Soldiers

  • Military officials of both the US and North Korea met on the inter-Korean border for the the first time in 9 years to discuss about returning the mortal remains of the US soldiers who died during the 1950-53 Korean War. Reports say one of the agreements between the US President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un during their June-summit in Singapore was repatriation of the mortal remains of the US soldiers. Meeting of the military generals from both sides on Sunday comes in accordance with the proposals of North Korea after the North Korean representatives didn’t show up on Thursday as per previous plans. Reports say the negotiations started at the border village of Panmunjom (located in Demilitarised Zone that separates North and South Korea) at around 0100 GMT.
