US Navy sends aircraft carrier Carl Vinson for historic visit

It is the first time after the end of Vietnam War that a US Navy carrier has visited the country. The aircraft carrier Carl Vinson is making a historic call at Vietnam as this opportunity is going to enhance the budding friendship between the two nations. The four-day visit by the Vinson and its contingent of 5000 sailors and aviators will anchor off the port city of Danang, where US combat troops first landed in the war, making this a highly symbolic location.
