US National Security Adviser Calls North Korean Missile Tests a Violation of UN Resolution

  • On Saturday, US National Security Adviser John Bolton has said that the recent North Korean missile launches have violated the resolution adopted by the UN Security Council. He went on to urge North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un to return to the negotiation table on the issue of denuclearizing DPRK. The announcement came just hours before the US President Donald Trump arrives in Japan on a 4-day visit. This is the first time any high ranking US official called the recent North Korean short-range missile tests a violation of UN resolution. Bolton stressed on the fact that “the U.N. resolution prohibits the launch of any ballistic missiles”. John Bolton also said that the US President has still kept the negotiation door wide open and the ball is now in the North Korean leader’s court to walk through it.
