US military to lift transgender ban
June 25 , 2016
An Estimate by the National Center for Transgender Equality showed that up to 15000 transgender people serve in the US military. US official say the Pentagon will lift its ban on openly transgender service personnel next month which was regressive and outdated in nature. Campaigners for transgender rights have welcomed the disclosure. The decision comes after Eric Fanning took the charge of civil office in American military. It is for the first time that a gay person has taken charge of the office. This judgement has brought a sigh of relief for the families of transgender members of the army.
