US launches 'full investigation' into Kunduz clinic bombing
October 4 , 2015
The US has launched a “full investigation” into Saturday’s air strikes that killed at least 19 people at a hospital run by the medical charity MSF in Afghanistan’s Kunduz city.
The US military had described the strikes on the clinic as “collateral damage”.
President Barack Obama offered his “deepest condolences” to the victims. Twelve staff members and seven patients are confirmed to have been killed.
Meanwhile, the United Nations described the airstrikes as “inexcusable and possibly even criminal”.
