US intends to Call UN Security Council Meeting on North Korea on Monday
September 9 , 2017
US Mission has told U.N. Security Council on Friday that it intends to call a meeting to vote on a draft resolution for imposing additional sanctions on North Korea. The draft resolution reportedly wants the UN Security Council to impose oil embargo on DPRK, ban textile imports as well as hiring of North Korean laborers in foreign countries, and travel ban/asset freezing on North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong-Un. Reports say China is skeptical about oil ban on DPRK as they fear uncontrollable instability in the region. US is also uncertain about Russia’s voting on the matter.
