US Imposes 25% Tariff on Chinese Goods Worth $16 bn

  • In the second round of tariff imposition on China, the US has announced a list of imports that will be levied with 25% tariffs. The imports are reported to be of worth $16 billion roughly. This has been the latest development in the trade war between them. As many as 279 products, which include antennas, speedometers, and motorcycles, will have tariffs imposed on them - effective from 23 August. The US has accused Asia's biggest economy of unfair trade practices and Mr. Trump has vowed to narrow down the trade deficit of US with Beijing in terms of goods.
