US health officials 'deeply concerned' after second Ebola diagnosis

  • A healthcare worker who was treating Thomas Duncan — an Ebola victim who died in Dallas after arriving from Liberia — has tested positive for the virus in what health authorities are calling a “breach in protocol” which was deeply concerning.

A female employee at the Texas hospital was diagnosed with Ebola despite wearing full protective clothing, in the first case of transmission in America.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Tom Frieden said there was a need “to enhance training and make sure protocols are followed.”
